Swanson, a former sergeant with the Superior Police Department, pleaded guilty in April 2024 to two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle after a July 15 2022 crash that killed a 23-year-old man and his infant son. Superior Judge George Glonek sentenced Swanson in July 2024 to five years imprisonment with five years of extended supervision, the sentences to run concurrently. The Attorney General asked for consecutive sentences.
