Bayless v. RBC Capital Markets, City of Superior & Officials – Federal Complaint (July 31, 2025)

This federal complaint, filed July 31, 2025 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin (Case No. 25-cv-642), is brought by plaintiff Glen R. Bayless against RBC Capital Markets, LLC; RBC advisor Patrick Pfahl; the City of Superior, Wisconsin; and Superior Police Captain Jeffrey Harriman. The Glen Bayless lawsuit against RBC Capital Markets alleges tortious interference with employment and a planned practice sale, conspiracy to injure his business, and wrongful retention of property seized during a June 16, 2022 search of his Superior residence. He seeks compensatory and punitive damages, injunctive relief, and the return of personal devices under Wis. Stat. § 968.20.

According to the pleading, Bayless says RBC and Pfahl undermined a “Platinum” heritage transition of his book of business, substituting less favorable “Gold” terms and a diminished valuation after the search became known within RBC. The Glen Bayless lawsuit against RBC Capital Markets also claims that the City and Harriman have not returned multiple items—including computers and storage devices—more than three years after seizure. Bayless requests a jury trial. The lawsuit is a significant step in Glen Bayless’s fight against RBC Capital Markets and the City of Superior.
