Final Episode Note: Dear Jim
This is the last episode of Soupnutz — not because the work is done, but because the silence has become too loud to ignore.
We began Soupnutz to follow the money, track the spin, and ask the questions others wouldn’t after Mayor Jim tried to trade some city forest for a bird sanctuary issue under his uncles driveway. But some truths don’t come through budget reports or travel logs. Sometimes they come through tragedy — and the silence that follows.
Superior Police Sgt. Greg Swanson was off duty when his vehicle struck and killed Michael and Elijah — a father and son. He left the scene while the mother screamed. They never made it home. We’ve seen zero accountability from city hall. No public statements from the Mayor, or City Council. No investigation visible to the people who fund the police department. Not even the usual -platitude from the mayor’s office.
The people of Superior deserve better than whispers, sealed files, seperation agreements, and quiet retirements. They deserve facts. They deserve names. They deserve records.
“You can ignore a watchdog. But you can’t ignore receipts.”
This is the last Soupnutz funny podcast episode, but it’s the start of a permanent archive of government misconduct. We still have to make fun of the 2 to 3 hour City Clowncil Meetings.
